<strong>The</strong> fullest type in Scripture is that of the tabernacle. This was the dwelling place of God<br />

in the camp of Israel. While Moses was on Mount Sinai getting the stone tablets of the Law<br />

written by the finger of God, he also received the pattern of the tabernacle. <strong>The</strong> New <strong>Testament</strong><br />

Epistle to the Hebrews makes it abundantly clear that the pattern of the tabernacle was a picture<br />

of spiritual truth concerning Jesus Christ. <strong>The</strong> Gospel of John also emphasizes this fact in the<br />

statement of the Incarnation: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt [literally “tabernacled”]<br />

among us” (John 1:14). <strong>The</strong> following chart lists many of the more notable aspects of the<br />

tabernacle and how they relate to Christ.
