<strong>3U</strong> CompactPCI and CompactPCI <strong>Express</strong><br />

Intel ® -based <strong>3U</strong> CompactPCI ® Boards<br />

A highlight of the MEN product range is the Intel ® -based <strong>3U</strong> CompactPCI ® product family. <strong>The</strong> performance of these<br />

boards ranges from the latest Core TM 2 <strong>Duo</strong> (2.2 GHz) down to the ultra low power Celeron ® M 373 (1.0 GHz).<br />

Thanks to this family concept, expensive and time-consuming system adaptations are not needed anymore.<br />

<strong>The</strong> intercompatible Intel ® -based boards enable a smooth migration to the next higher processor generation.<br />

Existing system and software solutions can be continued to be used. If the performance of a running system has to<br />

be increased the existing single-board computer can be replaced by a new member of the MEN product family with<br />

a higher performance. A special feature of these Intel ® -based boards is the extendibility of the I/O functions using<br />

different side cards. Depending on requirements the performance range can be extended by additional legacy I/O<br />

interfaces, multimedia functions, additional USB interfaces or FireWire for fast data transfer. Long-term availability<br />

of at least five years from product start and RoHS conformity guarantee that the user’s project is future-safe which<br />

is a requirement in many embedded applications.<br />

Another product highlight based on Intel ® is the F11N. It is a perfect computing platform for infotainment, control<br />

or monitoring applications and combines the advantages of the FPGA technology and the low power versions of<br />

the Intel ® Celeron ® / Pentium ® III. Thanks to the Altera ® Cyclone TM FPGA customer-specific functions can be realized<br />

flexibly and individually on the board. Depending on requirements, the needed IP cores can be compiled from<br />

the MEN function library and be newly configured, combined with IP cores from other manufacturers or newly<br />

developed. Thanks to a long-term availability until at least 2011 and RoHS conformity the F11N ensures that the<br />

user’s project is future-safe.<br />
