underground facilities (such as telephone, sewer and water) will<br />
be in accordance with NESC Sections 320 and 353 and subject to<br />
approval by the <strong>Company</strong> and the other utilities involved.<br />
A minimum radial separation of 12 inches between the<br />
secondary or primary cables or ducts containing secondary or<br />
primary cables and all other utilities is required. For added<br />
safety, a minimum separation of 24 inches between primary<br />
cable/conduit and gas lines should be maintained wherever<br />
practicable. See Illustrations 19 and 20 in Section XII. This<br />
separation is required to permit access to, and maintenance of,<br />
either facility without damage to the other.<br />
914. RISERS (POLE)<br />
Risers on any pole shall be constructed in accordance with<br />
Illustration No. 29 or 30 in Section XII. Additionally, when more<br />
than one conduit per utility is to be installed on a single <strong>Company</strong><br />
pole or where future customers are likely to be served from the<br />
same pole, standoff brackets are required, and the riser shall be<br />
constructed in accordance with Illustration No. 28 in Section XII.<br />
This requirement includes the spare conduit (where required)<br />
which shall be run to the first standoff bracket (at least 8 feet<br />
above grade) and capped. If it is necessary to install brackets<br />
below the 8 foot level during construction, the brackets must be<br />
installed below finish grade or removed upon construction<br />
completion (before energization). This will insure compliance<br />
with NESC requirements.<br />
Bends at the foot of the pole, if required, shall be made of<br />
galvanized steel and have a minimum radius as specified by the<br />
<strong>Company</strong> (See paragraph 910).<br />
Before any conduit is installed on a <strong>Company</strong> owned pole,<br />
the <strong>Company</strong> shall be contacted to determine a suitable<br />
location for the riser conduit. Once the riser location has been
