901. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY<br />
It shall be the customer's<br />
responsibility to:<br />
• Notify DIG SAFE at 1-888-344-7233 prior to any<br />
excavation.<br />
• Make arrangements for the installations by other<br />
utilities.<br />
• Provide the trench excavation, back fill and all conduit<br />
installation in accordance with this handbook section<br />
(IX). (See paragraph 910 for conduit<br />
requirements/specifications.)<br />
• Provide and install a transformer pad(s) and primary<br />
junction box (es) meeting the <strong>Company</strong>'s specifications<br />
as outlined in Illustrations No.s 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 and<br />
34 in Section XII. Pad designs must conform to<br />
<strong>Company</strong> specifications to ensure interchangeability<br />
with spare transformers.<br />
• Provide the necessary permanent easements and<br />
permits (including environmental) to cover the location<br />
of the <strong>Company</strong>’s facilities including aerial lines,<br />
underground cable and equipment and transformers.<br />
This includes municipal and State permits for conduit<br />
under the public way.<br />
• Keep the route of any underground cable clear of<br />
structures, bushes or trees.<br />
• Pay any additional expenses the <strong>Company</strong> incurs as a<br />
result of severe weather conditions or frost in the<br />
ground during underground construction between<br />
November 1 and April 1. This charge will be in<br />
addition to all other costs.<br />
902. COMPANY RESPONSIBILITY<br />
It shall be the <strong>Company</strong>'s responsibility to:<br />
• Provide specifications for the underground service.<br />
• Approve all layouts for underground service.
