• Provide the <strong>Company</strong> a plan of the line extension<br />

sufficient for the <strong>Company</strong> to include the private<br />

line on<br />

the <strong>Company</strong>’s property records, or reimburses the<br />

<strong>Company</strong> for the cost of preparing such a plan. The plan<br />

should detail the location or placement of the materials<br />

used, as identified in a materials list (or other such<br />

documentation) showing that the materials are listed on<br />

the <strong>Company</strong>’s Contractor Item Catalog contained in<br />

CMP’s Distribution Construction Standards for private<br />

line construction. To purchase a copy of the Item<br />

Catalog and Construction Standards, contact the<br />

<strong>Company</strong>’s Manager of Distribution Engineering.<br />

• Build the line extension in accordance with the NESC,<br />

the <strong>Company</strong>'s line construction standards, and any other<br />

requirements contained in the <strong>Company</strong>'s filed tariffs on<br />

"Extensions."<br />

• Provide tree/vegetation clearance from any overhead<br />

primary line per the following specification: a minimum<br />

of 8 feet horizontally, 15 feet vertically above and to the<br />

ground beneath, any conductor.<br />

• Enter into a customer-owned line extension contract<br />

which the <strong>Company</strong> will record at the appropriate<br />

Registry of Deeds.<br />

• Obtain: a) inspection by a qualified <strong>Company</strong> employee<br />

to determine whether the line extension is safe; or b)<br />

certification in writing by a <strong>Maine</strong> licensed Professional<br />

Engineer (or other person licensed by the State to certify<br />

electric distribution line extensions) that the line<br />

extension is safe, reliable, and constructed in compliance
