be provided with suitable automatic protective devices by the<br />
customer.<br />
All motors and electronic equipment such as computers<br />
and microprocessors,<br />
shall be controlled and protected, by the<br />
customer, from damage caused by single phasing or abnormal<br />
voltage conditions. Such disturbances are inherent in all supply<br />
systems.<br />
The <strong>Company</strong> cannot be held responsible for damages<br />
caused by the customer’s failure to provide adequate protection.<br />
218. CUSTOMER GENERATION<br />
The<br />
following general requirements apply to<br />
customer<br />
generating facilities<br />
designed to operate in parallel with the<br />
<strong>Company</strong>'s<br />
electrical system and those which are designed to<br />
operate<br />
isolated from the <strong>Company</strong>'s system. Specific<br />
requirements and specifications for various types<br />
and sizes of<br />
customer<br />
facilities shall be obtained from the <strong>Company</strong> prior to<br />
installation.<br />
A. PARALLEL OPERATION<br />
The <strong>Company</strong> will permit customers to operate<br />
generating equipment in parallel with its electric system<br />
whenever it can be done without adversely affecting the<br />
general public or <strong>Company</strong> equipment or personnel.<br />
Operating in parallel means the customer's generator is<br />
interconnected to simultaneously serve the same load as the<br />
<strong>Company</strong>'s system. Such interconnection must be in<br />
compliance with Federal, State and local regulations as well<br />
as<br />
<strong>Company</strong> requirements and NEC Article 705.<br />
All such installations must be inspected and<br />
approved in writing by the <strong>Company</strong> before being<br />
