B. Overload protective devices shall be installed for all<br />
motors in accordance with the provisions of the NEC<br />
Section 430-III.<br />
C. Control apparatus equipped with reverse-phase relays of<br />
approved type shall be installed by the customer on all<br />
polyphase motor installations for elevators, hoists, cranes<br />
and those manufacturing processes where accidental<br />
reversal of rotation is liable to cause injury to persons or<br />
damage to machinery, equipment or work in process.<br />
D. It is recommended that customers protect their electrical<br />
equipment from voltage transients caused by such events as<br />
lightning and internal and external switching. For more<br />

1103. POWER FACTOR CORRECTION<br />
The use of equipment by the customer for power factor<br />
correction must conform to requirements of the <strong>Company</strong> as to<br />
electrical characteristics of equipment and its operation and<br />
control. The customer may be required to limit the size of static<br />
capacitor installations or to maintain effective control of the<br />
capacitors or other corrective equipment in order to prevent the<br />
use of such equipment from causing excessive voltage at the<br />
service. Corrective equipment installed by the customer must be<br />
located on the load side of the service disconnecting device and<br />
metering.<br />
