915. MULTIPLE SERVICES FROM ONE POLE<br />

Multiple underground services from one pole will normally<br />

require separate service cables installed<br />

in separate conduits.<br />

Standoff brackets are required when more than one conduit is<br />

used, or is likely to be used, for any one utility. Refer to<br />

Illustration No. 28 in Section XII for specifications and<br />

materials for multiple risers on one pole.<br />

Where additional<br />

customers<br />

request service of similar characteristics through<br />

underground<br />

cable from a pole with an existing underground<br />

service,<br />

the <strong>Company</strong> may, with Distribution Engineer approval<br />

and subject<br />

to the cost provisions of paragraph 903:<br />

• Furnish and install a single conduit of adequate size for<br />

all the service cables, or<br />

• Furnish and install a single conduit and cable to a<br />

handhole for connection of the service cables, or<br />

• Furnish and install conduits and primary<br />

cables to a<br />

padmount transformer suitably located for connection of<br />

the service cables.<br />

916. CABLE<br />

AND DUCT MAINTENANCE<br />

The <strong>Company</strong> will repair and maintain cable and duct<br />

systems owned by it. Repairs to <strong>Company</strong> owned cable and duct<br />

due to normal hazards will be made at <strong>Company</strong> expense<br />

including excavation, back fill, seeding<br />

and temporary service<br />

arrangements if necessary. The <strong>Company</strong> will not be responsible<br />

for restoring major landscaping features (such as stone walls) that<br />

are damaged during repairs. Repair of <strong>Company</strong> owned cable and<br />

duct caused by damage attributable to negligence on the part of<br />

another party will be billed to the party responsible for the<br />

damage.<br />

The customer will be responsible for repair and<br />

maintenance of all cable and/or duct lines owned by the customer.<br />

The <strong>Company</strong> will generally repair customer owned underground<br />
