with much less room tone. In this case, Paul’s mic can probably fade in and out<br />

without continuous tone, since the noise of the boom microphone masks any<br />

swells in his room tone.<br />

Figure 10-35 Even though Paul’s radio microphone track carries little tone<br />

compared to Beatrice’s boom, its room tone will contribute to the overall noise<br />

level. Slightly reducing the level of the boom track while the radio mic is playing<br />

will help smooth the scene and make it quieter.
