An atmosphere disturbance forces warm
moist air of the prevailing Easterlies to rise.
As the air cools, water vapor condenses
and falls as rain, heat energy is released,
and winds intensify.
How a Cyclone Forms
The storm grows as air spirals inward, rises, and is
exhausted from the top by high level winds. Surface air
converges at an increasing rate toward the low pressure at
the storm center. High winds, heavy rain, and storm surges
occur as the storm becomes a mature hurricane.
