In the following lines it is presented the dynamic of the interventions in u.a. 3A, 4A and
11C in U.P. II Valea Lungă, analysing the distribution of the number of trees on
diameter categories and respectively on the intensity of interventions on volume (fig. 2,
3, 4, 5, 6, 7).

Analysing figures 2 and 4, it can be observed a surplus of trees of small diameters, trees
that were not totally extracted at the cultural operations (especially on the occasion of
the first thinning), at the preparatory cutting, but the extraction was done step by step, at
the application of favourable workings, the seedlings establishing, on ecologic grounds,
in order to prevent the establishing of the grassy vegetation, the soil sodding and the
occurrence of the forest vegetation succession, on those areas.
The presence of trees with small diameters in an increased number, that constitutes
an element of a specific forest stand, can be explained by the fact that in the gaps
accidentally opened, at the extraction of the accidental and hygiene products, there were
established seedlings that developed at the shelter of the existent forest stand.
Due to the fact that the interventions have a complex character (character of
preparing, of gaps opening, of gaps enlargement and connection – on some areas), they
will be called P1 respectively progressive 1, P2 – progressive 2, etc.
