Special Files Northeast Asia, 1945–1966, First Supplement. The four-digit number on the far left
is the frame at which a particular file folder begins. The file title follows the frame number.
Substantive issues are highlighted under the heading Major Topics, as are prominent
correspondents under the heading Principal Correspondents. Major Topics and Principal
Correspondents are listed in order of first appearance and each topic or correspondent is listed
only once for each folder. Chinese and Korean names begin with the family name (surname),
followed by a personal name that may be one word or in two parts (sometimes hyphenated).
Japanese names are in Western order, with the personal name first and family name last.
