Views of S.Gotthard, Glacier du Rhône, Grimsel, Oberhasli, Rosenlaui, Wetterhorn, Grindewald, Jungfrau, Lauterbrunen… Eight of them are after Samuel Birman, and published in “Basle, chez Birman et fils”. The artist is well-known for his album Souvenirs de la Vallée de Chamonix, published in 1826. Five plates bears the inscription “Zürich, chez F.Sal. Füssli”. At the end a rare view of Fribourg, drawn by Winterlin and engraved by Vogel. [18915] 8

First illustrated edition of Boethius with 77 beautiful woodcuts in the text, plus many illustrated initials.
