Orienta is a motorization system for external Venetian blinds with a 

maximum size of 25 sq, m. 

Orienta offers you a complete range of motors providing four torques and 

three installation options to better meet all your customers requirements. 

One of the major assets of the Orienta range of products is that it can 

be easily integrated: 

• into all the commercial headrails with headrail adapters that enable 

speedy and accurate motor installation, requiring no great effort nor 

tooling. 

• with all commercials shafts thanks to a wide range of shaft adapters. 

Orienta motors are compatible with all the SOMFY automation and 

control systems intended for industrial and home applications. 

Therefore, you benefit from an optimum convenient use, whatever the 

type of installation. 

Of course, Orienta is a SOMFY product, which guarantees a faultless 

design and manufacturing quality. Besides, an optimised logistic support 

at your disposal, as well as possibilities of customizing the motor,

Product: 

The type M is a compact solution 

in the range. Available in the 

four torques of the Orienta range 

of products, it provides an 

alternative to the other two 

types of motors and will fully 

satisfy users looking for simple 

operation without lacking in 

quality and reliability. 

Operating principle: 

The type M is equipped with an 

upper mechanical stop (U0) as 

well as an adjustable lower limit 

switch (D0). In most 

applications, the slats go down 

closed. 

Installation: 

As for all Orienta motors, every 

configuration is possible with the 

type M. A wide range of headrail 

adapters enables a speedy and 

accurate motor integration, 

requiring no tooling, into the 

end product while the headrail 

clips maintain it sideways. The 

shaft adapters are used to 

ensure complete compatibility 

with the Venetian blind shaft. 

Control systems: 

Orienta motors are compatible 

with all the SOMFY ranges of 

automation and control systems. 

Thus, you are sure to find the 

control or automation system 

perfectly suitable for the mode 

of operation you wish for your

wishing to align their blind 

in relation to the recess 

containing the compacted slats

on the facade. 


The type MU is equipped with

The type MD is a solution

great comfort. Available in the 

four torques of the Orienta range 

of products, it is particularly 

suitable for users wishing to take 

advantage of the working 

position: the slats are open 

during blind displacement. 


The type MD is equipped with 

an upper mechanical stop (U0), 

an adjustable intermediate lower 

limit switch (D1) as well as an 

adjustable lower limit switch 

(D0). In most applications, the 

slats go down in working 

position (slats open). 

Installation:

A - Choice of torque 

To enable you to choose the 

motorization best suited to your 

blind, we give you a table to 

choose a motor according to your 

blind size. 

This table is given as an indication 

and is not valid for every type of 

blind. Indeed, friction due to the 

rockers and guides in the slides 

varies from one blind to the other 

and can affect the minimum 

torque required to actuate the 

blind.
