attend a
Workshop on Identity Management and Privacy Standards in Brussels on
January, 22 nd , 2013
kindly hosted at the
Hanse Office, the regional office of the Länder Hamburg und Schleswig-Holstein,
Avenue Palmerston 20, B-1000 Brussels.
A day before the Conference "Computers, Privacy & Data Protection 2013" (CPDP) the committee on
Security Techniques of ISO and IEC (ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 27) together with the European research project
ABC4Trust invites international experts to discuss the potential and perspectives in Identity Management
and Privacy Standardisation.

The workshop will see a mix of topics and will present opportunities for engineers, lawyers and
policymakers for exchange and develop strategies. Themes of the day will be starting from an engineering
viewpoint, lining out the potentials of privacy-friendly identity management by using attribute-based
credentials (ABCs), and in the following discussing their application areas and needs for standardisation.
The afternoon will trade perspectives and look at different approaches to privacy standardisation, such as
privacy seals, impact assessments as well as traditional IT-security-driven approaches.
A draft agenda of the day is attached to this invitation. Admission is free, but attendance limited to 50.
