The Willy-Brandt-Haus, the party headquarters of<br />
the SPD, houses an extensive collection of Class-<br />
ical Mo<strong>der</strong>nist and contemporary art. There are<br />
also special exhibitions on a regular basis on various<br />
themes, in particular photography.<br />

A part of the exhibition triptych »Übergänge«<br />
(Transitions) based in the SEZ, the Willy-Brandt-<br />
Haus and the galerie son.<br />
Since 2008 the painter Johannes Heisig has<br />
worked from his memories and visions of the<br />
divided and reunited Berlin of the last 30 years.<br />
In commemoration of the construction of the Wall<br />
in 1961 the series of works is now being displayed<br />
in its full form. Entering into a dialogue with<br />
Heisig’s paintings, the Berlin photographer Günter<br />
Bersch’s pictures document the withdrawal of the<br />
Red Army from Berlin..<br />
