Ang.; reconstruction und interpretation: Arwed Messmer 340 photographic panoramas show the former Berlin Wall from the perspective of the GDR: a unique opportunity to experience this view of the entire length of the Wall through the city, from Treptow to Pankow. exhibition From a Different Perspective: the Early Berlin Wall In 1966 GDR border guards photographed over 40km of the inner-city wall. The negatives were forgotten and only rediscovered in the 90’s by the initiators of the exhibition. The 1500 individual negatives were digitally pieced together by the photographer Arwed Messmer and a text from the border guards’ files was added by the author Annett Gröschner. »From a Different Perspective: the Early Berlin Wall« is supported by the Kulturstiftung des Bundes und die Bundesstiftung zur Aufarbeitung der SED-Diktatur in cooperation with the Bundesarchiv.
