spoločnosti TRANSPETROL vo vzťahu
k životnému prostrediu dokumentuje
aj skutočnosť, že sme dlhodobo
niekoľko rokov nezaznamenali žiadnu
havarijnú udalosť vplyvom činnosti
spoločnosti. V uplynulom roku
nedošlo k úniku nebezpečných
látok do pôdy, horninového prostredia,
podzemných či povrchových vôd.
Emisné limity sledovaných škodlivín
neboli v minulom roku ani raz prekročené,
pričom množstvo vypúšťaného
znečistenia bolo hlboko pod bilančnými
kvótami.
Devízou spoločnosti TRANSPETROL
sú predovšetkým odbornosť a profesionalita
jej zamestnancov. Z tohto
dôvodu kladieme dôraz na ich profesionálny
rozvoj, čo nám pomáha udržať
si konkurencieschopnosť v rámci
európskeho regiónu. Na oblasť
odbornej prípravy zamestnancov
v roku 2008 TRANSPETROL vynaložil
celkovo 6,8 milióna korún, čo medziročne
predstavuje nárast o 14 %.
Pre budúce smerovanie TRANSPETRO-
LU má zásadný význam spätné odkúpenie
49-percentného podielu Ministerstvom
hospodárstva Slovenskej
republiky. Spolu s prijatím eura na
začiatku roku 2009 bude nadchádzajúce
obdobie príležitosťou naplno
využiť potenciál spoločnosti, vyplývajúci
zo strategického významu slovenského
systému ropovodov v strede
Európy v súlade s dlhodobým cieľom
byť pripravený na zvyšovanie objemu
prepravy ropy. Stabilné hospodárske
výsledky TRANSPETROLU v predošlých
rokoch sú dobrým východiskom
tieto zámery úspešne zrealizovať. Výsledky
za uplynulý rok odrážajú našu
vzájomnú spoluprácu, preto moje poďakovanie
patrí všetkým zamestnancom,
ktorých práca a nasadenie výrazne
ovplyvňuje fungovanie a výsledky
našej spoločnosti.

Another of TRANSPETROL’s key business
activities is oil storage. Besides oil storage
for key customers, TRANSPETROL also ensures
oil storage for the State Material Reserves
Administration. The present capacity
of the company’s storage facilities, which
comply with the strict legislative requirements
of the Slovak Republic as well as with
European standards for the protection
and development of the environment,
is 602,595 tonnes. As regards the environment,
the reliability of the oil pipeline system
operated by TRANSPETROL is shown
by the fact that for several years there has
not been one recorded accident caused by
the company’s activities. Last year there were
no leaks of harmful substances into the
soil, bedrock, ground or surface water. Also
last year, the emission quotas of monitored
harmful substances were not exceeded once
and the volume of pollutants released was far
below the balance quotas.
The main asset of TRANSPETROL is,
first and foremost, the expertise and
professionalism of its employees. This is
why we are placing great emphasis on their
professional development, which helps us
maintain our competitiveness in the European
region. In 2008, TRANSPETROL invested SKK
6.8 million in the professional training of its
employees, which represents a year-on-year
increase of 14%.
The buyback of a 49% stake in the company
by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak
Republic is of crucial importance to
TRANSPETROL’s future direction. Along with
the euro changeover at the beginning of 2009,
the upcoming period will offer an opportunity
to fully harness the company’s potential,
which is based on the strategic importance
of the Slovak oil pipeline system due to its
location in the centre of Europe, and to get
ready, in line with the company’s long-term
goals, for an increase in oil transport volumes.
TRANSPETROL’s stable economic results for
the previous years are a great starting point
for a successful implementation of these plans.
Last year’s results reflect a sense of mutual
cooperation and therefore I would like
to extend my gratitude to all our employees,
whose work and devotion substantially
influence the operation and results of our
company.
