5.2. Produce a poster of Turkey’s common butterflies<br />

A Turkish-English poster was produced presenting 64 of Turkey’s most widespread<br />

butterflies. With this resource it was possible to attract <strong>the</strong> interest of Bilim ve Teknik<br />

(‘Science and Technology’ magazine) who adapted <strong>the</strong> poster <strong>for</strong> circulation with <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

magazine and developed a special issue focused on butterflies, which reached a readership<br />

of 40,000.<br />

Details on <strong>the</strong> work:<br />

A two-sided poster (Turkish-English) depicting 64 of Turkey’s most widespread butterflies<br />

was produced and launched at <strong>the</strong> 6 th Butterfly Symposium in <strong>the</strong> UK in March 2010.<br />

In May <strong>2011</strong> a revised Turkish only version of <strong>the</strong> poster was prepared and distributed with<br />

<strong>the</strong> May edition of Bilim ve Teknik. This edition also included 24 pages of articles on<br />

butterflies.<br />
