1. The Hesselbarth et al (1995) butterfly dataset digitised, incorporated into<br />

a GIS database and available <strong>for</strong> conservation studies. - Done<br />

2. Red List Working Group meeting of key experts. - Conducted<br />

3. Red List workshop involving all stakeholders who will use <strong>the</strong> list (butterfly<br />

watchers, NGOs, academics and government bodies). - Conducted<br />

4. A project brochure. - Produced<br />

5. Two posters to promote butterflies and <strong>the</strong> project: Common Butterflies of<br />

Turkey, and Conserving <strong>the</strong> Prime Butterfly Areas in Turkey. - Both<br />

produced, <strong>the</strong> second in cooperation with National Geographic Turkey in 10 000 copies<br />

6. Project launch event with guided butterfly walks. - Conducted,<br />

with some adaptations<br />

7. A provisional Red List of Turkey’s butterflies published in an international<br />

scientific journal and available on <strong>the</strong> internet. - Produced,<br />

publication distributed and submitted at IUCN<br />

8. PBA methodology workshop (in <strong>the</strong> Ne<strong>the</strong>rlands) - Conducted,<br />

twice - in Turkey and in Hungary, in combination with <strong>the</strong> Strategy workshop<br />

9. A candidate list of Turkey’s PBAs. - Produced<br />

10. Conservation Strategy workshop. - Conducted<br />

11. A National Butterfly Conservation Strategy <strong>for</strong> Turkey. - Produced,<br />

printed and distributed among stakeholders<br />

12. Butterfly watcher and experts network development workshop. - Conducted<br />

13. Butterfly training road show (parts 1 and 2) delivered at 6 locations. -Conducted,<br />

<strong>for</strong>mat of <strong>the</strong> training was adapted to <strong>the</strong> local context, see activity 6<br />

14. Summer camp <strong>for</strong> butterfly training and networking. - Conducted<br />

15. The trained and active nucleus of Turkish butterfly watchers increased. - Achieved<br />

and important lessons learned<br />

16. A proposal <strong>for</strong> a research and conservation project on a priority PBA<br />

and one of its globally threatened species developed and submitted <strong>for</strong><br />

funding by <strong>the</strong> core butterfly watcher group. - Done<br />

17. Butterfly-friendly management prescriptions <strong>for</strong> <strong>for</strong>est management plans. - Done<br />

18. A list of national agro-environmental support schemes which have <strong>the</strong><br />

potential to encourage and promote HNV farming systems. - Done<br />

19. Active conservation measures implemented on a selected PBA and<br />

a monitoring programme initiated. - Conducted<br />

20. National Butterfly Conservation Strategy launch event. - Conducted<br />
