Ocean City and Upcoming Events
Our next few events are in the works. A
day trip is planned to Cider Mills in
Broadalbin on October 3, 2010. For
more information on this event, visit

www.eaglemillsfun.com. Cider Mills is
hosting the seventh Corvette Cruise-in in
conjunction with Vettes in Perfection
Corvette Club (Cathy and Dan Musslewhite,
our members “other club”) Live
entertainment, breakfast and lunch are
served, great doughnuts in the bakery
and a bunch of fun! Watch them make
cider in the mill! The fee for the show is
$10.00, Breakfast is $7.95, and there is a
BBQ lunch served, which is ala carte!
After that, a week off, then it is off to
Ocean City Maryland for Vettes at the
Beach. We are staying in a new hotel
this year, the Holiday Inn Express. This
is close to the host hotel, walking distance
to Tequila Mockingbird, and other
restaurants. We will be arriving there on
Thursday and departing on Sunday
morning. Lots of fun … pray for sun!
We are participating in the cruises. We
found that it doesn’t make much sense to
register for the show … which is held
simultaneously to the cruises.
Our usual mo is to go out for Maryland
Crabs on Thursday, Tequila Mockingbird
on Friday. Get your reservations
and see you there!
It’s usually our last get together of the
season (except the Christmas Party).

Cruisin’Around the Mountains 2011
Plans are underway, and fairly close to
completion for next year’s Cruisin’.
The sixth annual Cruisin’ Around the
Mountains is going to be awesome with
some additions, some deletions and the
same great fun.
The Friday Evening welcome party is
back at the Best Western. We found
that the Civic Center was just a bit big.
We are working on the menu for the
weekend, but it will be fairly light fare
with several restaurants within walking
distance for a full meal after the
party. Saturday’s show will be also
held at the Best Western. The show
will be held from 8:00 am til noon.
Cars must be in place by 9:00 am.
Judging will be at 11:30 am. There will
be a break in the festivities from 12:00
til 1:15 for lunch (on your own). The
cruise will line up at 1:30 and leave at
1:45.
The big changes this year are an
“awards” banquet at the Red Fox. If
you require transportation to the Red
Fox, it will be provided.
Sunday’s big change is the new
“American Cars, Hot Dogs and Apple
Pie” show at the Civic Center. This
event will be open to all Americanmade

Tragically, on September 18, 2010, during a motorcycle
ralley at Blackthorne Resort (a favorite for many member
and friends) a fire consumed the haunted house, main
building, lobby, restaurant and bar (the site of many fun
times!). Fortunately no one was injured during the fire
except for one fire fighter (our heroes) who was treated for
some inhalation and returned to fight the blaze.
Gail Giglio’s daughter, who was in attendance, said that it
was extremely chaotic . Lots of rumors are floating
around, as there usually is during a crisis such as this, but
we are grateful that the important thing, human life, has
not been lost in this tragedy.
We wish the owners of Blackthorne well and are looking
forward to a shiny new facility in the Spring.

Christmas Party
The annual Christmas Party and nine-pin Bowlarama will
be held the first weekend in December, 2010. With the
registration down for Cruisin’ this year, please remember
to support Holiday Helpers during this upcoming holiday
season. Remember, the only gift some of these children
get is from us! Plus … we love to see you all!

Next Year’s Schedule
We are working on next year’s schedule and hope that everyone
will let us know what national and local events they
are holding, attending or suggest that we should attend.
Our “big trip” looks to be a week long trip to Eureka Springs
in September. We will try to plan a trip to Mid America on
the way with stops that will fit in with everyone’s wishes.
We’ll keep you posted as things progress.

Black Hills Recap
The first thing I can say about the Black Hills is … boy are
those Buffalo huge! Several members attended the BHCC
this year. I would say, by and large, the trip was great.
Lots and lots of driving, though. Never having been to that
area of the country, it was unbelievable how vast the area
is. I’ll never look at corn the same way again! The event
seemed to be a bit more organized on the Sioux Falls end of
things. The Spearfish cruises were a bit disjointed, but the
scenery was absolutely breath-taking.
We had a great time, though, and are looking forward to
more events in the future.
Good Luck Dale and Luci
Dale and Luci Patch sold the farm (much better than buying
the farm), packed their cars and other belongings and headed
off on a new adventure. They have moved to Tennessee.
With low taxes, property values and better weather, they
have started a new life chapter. Dale and Luci have moved to
Crossfield, TN, and would love to hear from anyone when they
are in the area. Their email is staying the same, so they will be
easy to contact. If you need more information, let me know
and I will forward off to you their email.

The Found Caravan Corvette Club, Inc.sm, a New York State nonprofit
