PRACTICAL INFORMATION
At the kind invitation of the Covasna County Council (RO), the
meetings will take place at the:

Covasna town is also known as “the resort of the 1000 health
springs®”. It benefits from a mild climate, air very rich in negative
ions and a picturesque landscape. The healing natural resources,
unique in the country and worldwide, are made use of throughout
the year.
HOW TO GET TO COVASNA
By plane: the nearest airport to Covasna is Bucharest (Otopeni-
Henri Coandă Airport) at the 215 km distance. The two regional
airports – Tg. Mures and Sibiu are at 220 km.
By car: access roads National Road DN 1 (Bucharest-Braşov), DN
11- 55 km from Braşov (towards Bacău), turning on DN 13 Reci-
Covasna.

! Please note that shuttle transfers from airport to the meeting venue
will be organised on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, according to
the needs, on participants’ expense.
In order to optimise the organisation of the shuttle transfers, please
let us know your travel plans as soon as possible!
By train: if you take the train you should buy a ticket till Braşov. After
arriving you should take the minibus located outside, next to the train
station (Autogara in Romanian ) up to Covasna-Voineşti station. You
should search for minibuses having the inscription ECOSIL. Please find
below the timetable. One way ticket costs 12 lei (aprox. 2,5 Euro).

ACCOMMODATION
Clermont Hotel represents a landmark in spa treatment through the
medical services provided in an outstanding tourist location.
It focuses on using local natural resources, unique Europe wide, for
therapy purposes: mofettes and mineral water bath.
Participants are invited to make their own hotel reservation.

Other General information
Romania's currency is Leu (plural "Lei") (pronunciation: lay).
Foreign currencies may be exchanged at banks or authorized exchange offices (called: "casa de
schimb" or "birou de schimb valutar"). International airports and larger hotels also offer currency
exchange services.
Banks
Bank business hours are from Monday to Friday, 09:00-16:30. Banks are closed on Saturday
and Sunday and Public Holidays.
Time Zone
Seven hours ahead of U.S. Eastern Standard Time (GMT + 2).
Climate
Romania has a temperate climate, with four distinct seasons. In Bucharest the average summer
temperature is 24° Centigrade (75° Fahrenheit), but during July and August it often exceeds 32°C
(100° F). Winters are cold, with temperatures below 0° C (32° F). Apart from normal seasonal
clothes, it is always advisable to pack a warm pullover, a raincoat and good walking shoes. Very
warm clothing is recommended in winter.
Electricity
The main electricity in Romania is 220 volts and 50 Hz. British and American outlets differ from
the Romanian ones, so you may need to bring a transformer and/or adapter for your electrical
appliances (it is not available at the hotel receptions).
Insurance
The Organizing Committee can accept no responsibility for accidents or damage to the private
property of participants. Please make your own arrangements for health insurance and any other
insurance desired.
Driving Licence
Car drivers must have their personal driving license and international green card.
