Finally, Figure 9-6 depicts the strike force, having completed its attack,<br />

exiting the area accompanied by its close <strong>and</strong> detached escorts. The remote<br />

escorts, meanwhile, have terminated their stationary CAPs <strong>and</strong> are also<br />

leaving the area. Their exit times have been specified relative to the time of<br />

target attack so that they provide something of a moving screen for the<br />

strike force, shielding the main body from the hostile airfields. Since the<br />

remote escort probably does not have visual contact with the main body
