Industrial production processes often lead to pollution, e.g.<br />

coolants, plasticisers, welding smoke, oil mist, or tars which pollute<br />

ambient air and easily disperse all over the entire production<br />

facility. In this connection, the electrostatic separater SMOG-HOG ®<br />

is a perfect solution - no matter whether as stand-alone solution,<br />

central exhaustion, or installed in the duct of a ventilation system.<br />

Those deposits strain both, the health of your personnel as well as<br />

the machines used and the quality of your products. Particularly<br />

below a diameter of 2.5 µm, the protective mechanisms of human<br />

respiratory tracts are not able to separate those particles which in<br />

case of toxic substances may rapidly cause chronic diseases of the<br />

respiratory path or cardiovascular system of your personnel. Notes<br />

of illness and temporary production downtimes or even a lasting<br />

loss of know-how may be the consequences.<br />

Over 30 years of continuous further development<br />

have been the basis for a sophisticated system<br />

that guarantees clean air as important production<br />

factor.<br />

The electrostatic separater SMOG-HOG ® is<br />

advantageous over mechanical oil mist separaters<br />

since lifetime maintenance and energy costs are<br />

considerably lower.<br />

The collector plates where impurities deposit can be<br />

cleaned and used again. We would be glad to take<br />

over this service in our modern ultrasonic facility.<br />

It goes without saying that we will dispose of the<br />

harmful substances in an ecology-minded way.<br />

Filtered air<br />

The high separating performance of 96 - 99% is realized<br />

through a simple, however, far more efficient layout. A<br />

ventilating fan, that is cushioned against vibration, sucks<br />

in the polluted air which then is guided through a prefilter<br />

(5) providing for separation of larger pollutant particles<br />

and for even distribution of the air flow.<br />

Downstream of this, the so-called ioniser (6) is located<br />

designed for continuous positive charging of the remaining<br />

fine particles in fractions of a second by means of ionised<br />

air molecules.<br />

Actual purification of air is carried out by the collector<br />

(7). It is composed of several upright plates - one next to<br />

another - parallel with the flow of pollutants.<br />

Inside of the collector, the positively charged pollutant<br />

particles are deflected in an induced electric field toward<br />

the grounded plate. The upright installation of the plates<br />

ensures excellent discharge behaviour for the separated<br />

harmful substances can easily run off through a syphon.<br />

SMOG-HOG ® can also be designed as multi-stage system<br />

(double-stage or three-stage) to handle highly-loaded<br />

exhaust airflows. This guarantees clean results even for<br />

very high pollutant loads.<br />

The design of the steel housing is flexible and easy to<br />

maintain. SMOG-HOG ® electrostatic air filters are available<br />

for volume flows of up to 56,000 m³/h.<br />

The modular design allows simple and uncomplicated configuration of filter, fan, and system<br />
