2012 Australian Grand Slam Coaches Conference<br />

When and where?<br />

The conference will be held from 12 -14 January 2012<br />

at Hisense Arena, Melbourne Park.<br />

Conference sessions and official functions for the<br />

conference will be held on court - Hisense Arena,<br />

Eastern Concourse – Hisense Arena, Western Lounge – Hisense Arena, Court 21 (Melbourne<br />

Park outdoor court) and AAMI Park as required.<br />

Theme<br />

The theme for the 2012 event is “Building a bigger, better base”<br />

The conference brochure will be forwarded to <strong>Tennis</strong> Australia coach members in a mail out the<br />

week of 19 September <strong>2011</strong>.<br />

before heading to the Alice Springs Event. The combination of the confidence taken from the<br />

WA tournament along with the additional training was the catalyst for her results in the event.”<br />

KidSport Launched<br />

CLUB FUNDING & BUSINESS<br />

KidSport will make it possible for Western Australian children to participate in community<br />

sport and recreation, no matter their financial circumstances. KidSport will allow eligible youth<br />

aged 5-18 years to apply for financial assistance to contribute towards club fees. The fees will go<br />

directly to the registered KidSport clubs participating in the project through their participating<br />

local government.<br />

KidSport is being rolled out throughout Western Australia, including some regional local<br />

governments. At this stage KidSport is only available in those local governments who have<br />

signed up to be involved in the initiative. Not all local governments may be involved, and it<br />

may take others several months to come on board.<br />

Criteria<br />

What are the eligible criteria?<br />

• Applicant must be aged 5-18 years.<br />

• Applicant must have a Health Care Card or Pension Concession Card.<br />

• Applicant's primary place of residence must be in the local government area they are<br />

applying to (exceptions may apply).<br />

• It is preferred that applicants register with a club that is in their local government area.<br />
