GLOSSARY<br />

SCART – A type of connector commonly found on<br />

consumer electronics products manufactured for use in<br />

Western Europe.<br />

Screen ratio – See Aspect ratio.<br />

Source – Any device that provides audio or video<br />

signals for use with the 3 2 1 ® system. The AUDIO<br />

OUT from such a device connects to the AUDIO IN on<br />

the media center<br />

S-Video – A video signal that separates the black <strong>and</strong><br />

white from the color information. S-Video provides<br />

higher resolution than Composite video, but not as high<br />

as Component video. This type of connection requires<br />

use of an S-Video cable.<br />

Teletext – An information retrieval service provided by<br />

television broadcast companies in Europe <strong>and</strong> some<br />

other countries, not including the U.S.<br />

Title – A main component of contents on a DVD. There<br />

can be several titles on a DVD, one of which may be a<br />

movie.<br />

Video CD – A compact disc (CD) that contains video.<br />

Widescreen – A TV having an aspect ratio of 16:9 with<br />

a picture shape that is 16 units wide by 9 units high.<br />
