Airport, announced the partnership of the two<br />

airlines in hosting a “Bringing airports and airlines together” Network 2007 On March<br />

4-6, 2007, at the TradeWinds Beach Resort. Network is organized<br />

by “Airline<br />

Business” magazine.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Network route planning event w<strong>as</strong> launched back in 2001 to<br />

bring<br />

airports and airlines face-to-face, ready to do business in the Americ<strong>as</strong>.<br />

Since its launch, the event h<strong>as</strong> grown steadily with more than 260 delegates attending<br />

th<br />

the<br />

6 annual event in San Antonio in 2006. For further details, contact George<br />

Clearwater Beach postcards were given out by the CVB at the PIE – Airport <strong>Council</strong> Meeting, in addition to<br />

postcards sent to International Tourism Fair in Bolivia<br />

Visitor Guides were sent in bulk to companies in PA; CO; KY; and OH<br />

Executive<br />

director w<strong>as</strong> interviewed by Baynews 9 for a March 11 television segment<br />

President Craig West w<strong>as</strong> interviewed<br />

Advertised in the Chicago Tribune<br />

by ABC News, Channel 10, for a television segment<br />

Over 35 ads were posted on national newspaper travel sites on the internet<br />

Executive director did live and taped interviews for several radios stations in the Ontario, Canada area about<br />

places to go and what to do in Florida during Spring Break initiated through Visit Florida<br />

Planning upcoming Annual Awards Banquet<br />

Continuing participation in Beachwalk's Hard Hat meetings<br />

Worked through City Officials and Staff to incre<strong>as</strong>e police presence on the beach during spring break<br />

In February/March, Beach Visitor Information traffic w<strong>as</strong> down over 16% over the same time l<strong>as</strong>t year while the 60<br />

We lcome Center w<strong>as</strong> essentially flat. That being said, we served over 17,500 visitors to the area.<br />

<strong>The</strong> City is hosting Hard Hat meetings monthly providing the latest information<br />

about the project.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Chamber coordinated CVB-supported advertising coops in the February issue of AAA Ohio Motorist and the March<br />

issues of AAA New<br />

Jersey and AAA Living Chicago in partnership with the St. Petersburg/Clearwater International<br />

Airport and USA 3000. Circulation for the three publications is over 1.4 million.<br />

Footprints, our electronic newsletter, is now quarterly and the most recent edition w<strong>as</strong> distributed in late<br />

March. It went out to over 10,000 consumers and travel writers; additional<br />

writers and consumers are added to<br />

the e-mail datab<strong>as</strong>e each month. In addition to a Beach Walk update, it included feature stories on Clearwater<br />

Beach’s newest property, Royal Camelot and the St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport’s runway<br />

extension resulting in FlyWho flying here, plus information on over 20 featured special events.<br />

<strong>The</strong> series of educational sessions the Chamber held throughout the beach in February were well received. We<br />

were able to address the “who, what, when, why and how” type of questions about both Beach Walk and private<br />
