LP (l) LP (l) -ooption Specify printer-dependent or class-dependent options . -r -ttitle -w -X -a. name Several such options may be collected by specifying the -o keyletter more than once. For more information about what is valid for options, see Mo dels in lpadmin (lM). Remove file after printing. Print title on the banner page of the output. Write a message on the user's terminal after the files have been printed. If the user is not logged in, then mail will be sent instead. Display error message if print job is not sucessful. Display id if print job is successful. Note that lp (l) is silent by default. Assign name to print job. Name will display in name field by lpqueue. Cancel cancels line printer requests that were made by the lp(l) command. The command line arguments may be either request ids (as returned by lp (l)) or printer names (for a complete list, use lpstat(l)). Specifying a request id cancels the associated request even if it is currently printing. Specifying a printer name cancels the request which is currently printing on that printer. In either case, the cancellation of a request that is currently printing frees the printer to print its next available request. LPSTAT ( 1 ) LPSTAT ( l ) NAME lpstat - print LP status information SYNOPSIS lpstat [ options ] DESCRIPTION Lpstat prints information about the current status of the LP line printer system. If no options are given, then lpstat prints the status of all requests made to lp (l) by the user. Any arguments that are not options are assumed to be request ids (as returned by lp ) . Lpstat prints the status of such requests. Options may appear in any order and may be repeated and intermixed with other arguments. Some of the keyletters below may be followed by an optional list that can be in one of two forms: a list of items separated from one another by a comma, or a list of items enclosed in double quotes and separated from one another by a comma and/or one or more spaces. For example: -u"userl, user2, user3" The omission of a list following such keyletters causes all information relevant to the keyletter to be printed, for example: lpstat -o prints the status of all output requests. -a[ list ] Print acceptance status (with respect to lp ) of destinations for requests. line printer scheduler, the system default destination, a<br />
list of class names and their members, and a list of<br />
printers and their associated devices.<br />
-t Print all status information.<br />
