GETTYDEFS ( 4) GETTYDEFS ( 4 ) settings. Usually, a series of speeds are linked together in this fashion, into a closed set. For instance, 2400 linked to 1200, which in tum is linked to 300, which finally is linked to 2400. If getty is called without a second argument, then the first entry of letclgettydefs is used, thus making the first entry of letclgettydefs the default entry. It is also used if getty can't find the specified label. If letclgettydefs itself is missing, there is one entry built into the command which will bring up a terminal at 300 baud. It is strongly recommended that after making or modifying letclgettydefs, it be run through getty with the check option to be sure there are no errors. 1 FILES I etc I gettydefs SEE ALSO getty( lM), login(lM), Administrator's Manual. ioctl(2). termio(7) m the UNIX System - 2-
GROUP ( 4) GROUP ( 4) NAME group - group file DESCRIPTION Group contains for each group the following information: group name encrypted password numerical group ID comma-separated list of all users allowed in the group This is an ASCII file. The fields are separated by colons; each group is separated from the next by a new-line. If the password field is null, no password is demanded. This file resides in directory f etc. Because of the encrypted passwords, it can and does have general read permission and can be used, for example, to map numerical group ID's to names.
