OFF-ROAD MOTORCYCLES AND<br />
OFF-ROAD UTILITY VEHICLES FOR 2011<br />
Renewed at nearly 230 locations across the state where hunting and fishing<br />
licenses are sold. The 2010 registrations expire on Dec. 31.<br />
“Our new electronic licensing system has the ability to issue renewals for<br />
ATVs, snowmobiles, off-road motorcycles and off-road utility vehicles that is fast<br />
and easy,” said David Downing, Off-Highway Vehicles program coordinator for<br />
the <strong>Iowa</strong> Department of Natural Resources. “But, if you are registering your<br />
machine for the first time, you must go to the county recorder in the county of<br />
your residence.”<br />
There are about 30,000 snowmobiles and 47,000 ATVs and off-road motorcycles<br />
registered in <strong>Iowa</strong>. The annual registration fee goes to provide public<br />
areas to legally ride and a safety education program.<br />
Downing said he is encouraging the early registration renewal to avoid a rush<br />
at the end of the year.<br />
Courthouse is closed on the 31st therefore they need to be done on the<br />
30th or all RENEWALS only can be done at Hy-ee or by mail. If submitted by<br />
mail, must be post marked 12/31/2010.<br />
