ACTION PLAN GOAL 2: Increase retention of first – time, Fall 2003 students by six percentage points. KEY STRATEGY J: Identify which students may be dropout prone by observing behavioral clues (e.g. “ownership” of residence hall room, failing to apply for housing, financial aid, pre-registration, requesting a transcript, etc.). Drawing on results of survey instrument. Description/Explanation: Create an Early Alert Program, which allows the Director of Retention to identity and monitor those students who exhibit at-risk behaviors. The process will establish a communication mechanism between the Colleges, Administrative offices, Residential Life, Counseling Services, classroom faculty/instructors, staff and other offices on campus that interact with students.
