through parent-oriented activities
� Political meddling by outsiders
� Lack of political support
� Continued under funding for health sciences programs
� Low levels of partnering with local businesses and schools
� Continued poor media relations and portrayal
� Poor image with community, local teachers and administrators

ULM—there are three four-year institutions in close proximity
