Surprise party
for Zia Zuberi
Staff of CC hosted a surprise party for Director Corporate
Communications Mr. Zuberi on his birthday. Apart from CC
staff few other colleagues were also invited and the group
walked into Zia Zuberi’s office with Mango ice cream,
flowers and a line drawing portrait of him.

Choose Your Words Carefully
Realize that your words may carry more weight than you
think, and that there is a difference
between what you say and what is
heard. Authority and position give your
words extra clout. You know you're the
same person the kids feel free to argue
with, that you don't always have the
answers, that sometimes you just think
out loud, like most people. You don't see
yourself as different, but you are. When
you take on the mantle of management, your words
change in the ears and minds of employees. What may
seem like a casual discussion to you often seems like a life
and death dialogue to employees. They go home at night
and tell their partners and families what an incredible,
brilliant, awful, or rude thing you said. You may have just
been testing the waters. Employee’s often mistake such
explorations as official decrees. If you casually remark, "It
would be nice to have a new cafeteria," you can be sure
that, word will spread that the boss said we're getting a
new cafeteria. As an exercise that will give you a sense of
this, multiply the intensity of your words fivefold, and then
mentally listen to your conversation again.

Service Jubilee of Mr. Ashraf
25 years service Jubilee of Mr. Mohammad Ashraf - ED MV
Engineering & Design department TR was celebrated recently.
The event was participated in by departmental colleagues, BU &
Divisional management. The management praised the commitment
and long association of Mr. Ashraf with the company. In the picture
Mr.Ishtiaq Ul Haq is presenting a bouquet to Mr. Ashraf.
Director CC Selected for IPRA Jury
Our Director CC Mr.Zia Zuberi was invited to join The International
IPRA (International Public Relation Association) Jury to determine
the winners of the IPRA Golden
World Awards 2009 which met
in Warsaw Poland. The Jury
consisted of about 40 academics
and PR professionals from
around the world. The IPRA
judges chose 30 category
winners out of 126 finalists
selected from 342 entries received from 42 countries. The IPRA
Golden World Awards have established themselves as the true
“Oscars” of the international public relations industry.
Mr. Naukhez Arslan Speaks at Management
Conference
Mr.Naukhez Arslan General Manager Human resources gave a
presentation on "
Human Management
Perspective" at the "
Management Conference
2009" organized
by Department of
Commerce University of
Karachi.The conference
was held at the local
Marriott hotel and attended by more than 500 students and faculty.
Mr.Arsalan advised the students to add value to what they have
learned so that they can be competitive in the human resource
market.He said each individual is a product and just like other
products unless there is value addition it cannot compete
successfully.This unique approach gave the participants much to
think about and they received this presentation with enthusiasm.
Mrs.Dilshad Zafar head of the department of commerce appreciated
the participation of Mr.Arslan and the support of Siemens in
encouraging its officials to devote time to such activities.
Farewell for Saima Alnoor
A farewell party was hosted by Director CC, Mr. Zuberi for Saima Alnoor of
CC who left Siemens due to her plans to migrate to Australia. Colleagues of
Saima attended the party which was held at a local popular restaurant.
Gifts were exchanged and everyone felt that she will be missed by all.

The editor and staff wish the lucky couples, health, happiness and success in
their married life. Their colorful wedding was attended by friends and
relatives.

Surprise Party
for Aliya Taqi
Ms. Aliya Taqi Corporate Communication
Officer - Compliance. CC had a surprise
party waiting for her on her birthday. All
colleagues had gathered in CC department
and than called Aliya to give her a
surprise amidst singing of “Happy
Birthday to You”. Aliya was pleasantly
surprised and enjoyed this diversion from
her routine task which is to communicate
all compliance related information to the
employees under guidance from the RCO.

Silver Jubilee of Mr. Imtiaz Syed of
Healthcare Islamabad office was
celebrated on 1st June 2009. On the
