Doctors can analyze results and begin treatment more quickly with the new system. The first systems have been delivered recently. The 3D ultrasound unit is equipped with new transducer technology that features cooling of the transducer, an unprecedented development that allows it to operate at a higher performance level and to process information much more rapidly. The electronic engineering was co-developed by researchers from Corporate Technology. This, in turn, makes it possible for the first time to record a complete image within a heartbeat. The new transducer is also smaller and lighter than conventional units. As a rule, a medical lab contains various pieces of equipment, and each is used to analyze only a small number of parameters. The multifunctional DIMENSION VISTA analyzer developed by Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, by contrast, combines four laboratory analysis techniques in one instrument. It can carry out 97 percent of the lab tests required in routine and emergency hospital situations, and its current version can simultaneously evaluate about 105 different parameters. PET Scan of the Entire Body in Five Minutes Siemens has introduced an imaging device that combines the functions of its most advanced computed tomograph (CT) with a high-resolution PET (positron emission tomography) system. The new Biograph mCT thus combines all the capabilities of molecular imaging and radiology in a single piece of equipment. It is the only system that offers PET images with a resolution of two millimeters and image contrast four times better than conventional PET imaging*. Now it’s possible to conduct a PET examination in only five minutes. The CT’s X-ray source rotates around the patient three times a second, and its 128-slice imaging technology makes possible a resolution of 0.33 millimeter. The device for the early detection of breast cancer shows that ease of use, high functionality, and unique design can come together beautifully in a single medical engineering product. Siemens Healthcare and designaffairs jointly designed the Mammomat Inspiration, the first mammography system to incorporate the MoodLight function. Mood- Light is an LED glass panel that can be illuminated with freely selectable colors, producing a comfortable, relaxing effect on the patient.
