�� ZOOM Kindermuseum (ZOOM Children’s
Museum) —— This children’s museum
offers a broad range of fun and
entertainment with a pedagogic touch.
Children can visit exhibitions or be creative
with their own hands in the ateliers,
which offer workshops for children
from three years and up. In the
playground Zoom Ocean the youngest
can crawl, touch, play, and try. By appointment
only.

�� Prater —— When your child is tired
of art and the urban life relax in one of
the biggest green areas in town, the
Prater, which has plenty of playgrounds,
the amusement park Würstelprater
nearby and the open air swimming pool
Stadionbad (see »alternative sightseeing«).
A ride with the Liliputbahn (Lilliputian
railway), a little steam train, is
big fun for young and old.

—— Perfect beach feeling in the
city centre. Parents know: sand has a
hypnotic impact on children. While parents
lean back in their deck chairs and
enjoy their cocktails, the DJ music, the
view on the Danube canal and city skyline,
their children can build sand castles.

Art Brut Centre Museum Gugging —— This
museum and gallery displays different
kinds of Art Brut from abroad and from
its own collection, especially that by the
Gugging group. Located in a lovely
landscape about 20 km outside of
Vienna, in the direction of Kloster -
neuburg, situated in a former lunatic
asylum. Very famous is the so-called
House of Artists. Since 1981 it has been
housing the Gugging artists, people
who have gained a worldwide reputation
due to the high quality of their
drawings, paintings, writings and
objects. Presently the House provides
housing for nine residents with chronic
