with a lovingly worn-down interior, the
walls are plastered with all different
kinds of posters and announcements.
It’s dark, crowded and vibrates with energy.
Also famous for its goulash, which
is perhaps one of the best in town. Cool
mix of cultural and arty people.

�� Bonbonniere Bar —— Plush and champagne:
This bar is definitely not an icon
of Minimalism, it is one of those fancy
and – with a bit of imagination – frivolous
places where red plush becomes a
decadent dream. A variety of cocktails
are on offer. Live piano music during
the week. Way-out, a bit kitschy, tenderly
old fashioned.

�� Tanzcafé Jenseits —— This ex-brothel,
with its decadent charm of red plush,
brings to mind a Parisian vaudeville theatre
at the turn of the century. It is one
of the favourite meeting and flirting
places for the arty jeunesse dorée who
dance to funk-, soul- and latin music.
Nicely enough, the dress code for this
dance café is very down to earth. A true
classic in the area of the Mariahilferstraße,
and a way to finish the night.

�� Volksgarten Clubdiscothek, Tanzcafé
(Dance café) and Pavillion —— The music
selection of this club discotheque
ranges from r’n’b to techno and from
funk to lounge sound. Home of the
young and beautiful disco lovers. Sometimes
long queues at the entrance, es-
pecially on weekends. The Tanzcafé offers
music for passionate dancers (latin,
salsa, tango etc.) every Sunday (8 pm to
11 pm) with outstanding outdoor dancing.
In the Volksgarten Pavillion you can
sit outside in a lovely garden at small tables
from the ’50s, eat, drink, play
boules, relax in one of the two porch
swings and enjoy the DJ-line up.
