21.2 x lAsplenium X jacksonii(Alston)Lawalrée
(A.adiantum-nigrum x scolopendrium;
x Asplenophyllitis jacksonii Alston)
A hybrid, with simply pinnate fronds and a lamina the texture of
A.scolopendrium, which could be confused only with
A. x microdon. The latter however has a decrescent frond
whereas A. x jacksonii has the triangular frond-shape of
A.adiantum-nigrum. (See J.D.Lovis in C.A.Stace (ed.), loc.
cit.: 104; J.D.Lovis & Vida, loc.cit.; A.G.H.Alston, loc.cit.:
142.)
Callé, Lovis & Reichstein
(A.adiantum-nigrum x septentrionale;
A. x souchei auct. non Litard.)
A distinct, hybrid likely to be confused only with
A. x alternifolium from which it differs in having longer
lowermost pinnae giving the fronds a triangular outline. It has
been found once in 1870 on Craig Dhu, Llanberis Pass, v.c. 49
(specimen in herb. K). (See J.D.Lovis in C .A .St ace (ed.),
loc.cit.: 107).
