and increased production <strong>of</strong> this fatty acid has been shown to be related to situations in which<br />

MFD occurs. Relationships between trans-10, cis-12 CLA and milk fat syn<strong>the</strong>sis have been<br />

examined; <strong>the</strong>re is a curvilinear relationship between <strong>the</strong> reduction in milk fat yield and <strong>the</strong><br />

abomasal infusion dose <strong>of</strong> trans-10, cis-12 CLA in dairy cows (de Veth et al., 2004). Trans-10,<br />
