Transportation
Transportation during the event has
been minimized by choosing hotels
close to the Broward Convention
Center. This gives attendees an opportunity
to enjoy the comfortable
morning temperatures and walk to
the convention center.
Hotels
Finally, the LOC and Green Committee
have been working alongside
the Fort Lauderdale Convention
and Visitors Bureau to encourage
green strategies at our conference
hotels.
The 11th ICRS is one of the first
meetings to be held at the Broward
County/Fort Lauderdale Convention
Center that is recognized as a green
meeting.
We are grateful to our partners who
have spent a year working on this
initiative to reduce waste and be
more mindful of our environmental
footprint. We thank the Broward
County Convention Center staff, the
Fort Lauderdale Convention and
Visitors Bureau, Broward County
government, The Freeman Company
and the LOC Green Committee
(Lottie Purkis, Peggy Strumski,
and Barbara Dodge) for having the
foresight and commitment to see
these efforts become reality and to
set a standard for the 12th ICRS and
other meetings in Greater Fort
Lauderdale.
