Company Commander Dalforce. Escaped Singapore 2.42 with a friend in a small boat – to Sumatra, Java then Ceylon. Returned with SOE/Force 136 as a Major 5 th Royal Gurkha Rifles. Returned to planting: Manager, Pagoh Estate. Lt Colonel commanding 4 Ferret Force against the CTs. Federation Game Warden in Selangor 1948 then Pahang [Taman Negara] 1949 then Perak 1951. Chief Game Warden, Federation of Malaya 1960. For 7 years a sharebroker in KL then in 1967 an Estate Manager in Scotland. In 1969 a forest surveyor in Indonesia.
