If possible, mount on wheels and inflate<br />
to 10% of operating pressure. Store vertically.<br />
Cover with a tarpaulin.<br />
2) Store away from electrical devices such<br />
as motors and switches. <strong>The</strong>se are a<br />
source of ozone.<br />
3) Do not store in rooms with or near<br />
gasoline or lubricants. Rubber absorbs<br />
vapors from these materials and they<br />
can cause deterioration.<br />
4) Provide carbon dioxide fire extinguishers<br />
in tire storage areas.<br />
Used Tires<br />
1) Carefully clean and inspect tires before<br />
storage. Make necessary repairs before<br />
storage. Repairs to injuries which expose<br />
tire cord are especially important.<br />
Moisture can get into exposed cord.<br />
2) Observe all storage rules listed for new<br />
tires.<br />

Mounted Tires<br />
1) If tires are stored on a machine, it<br />
should be blocked up. Air should be released<br />
to 10 psi (.7 bar) or less. If machine<br />
cannot be blocked up, check air<br />
pressure frequently. Maintain pressure<br />
at proper level.<br />
2) Protect each tire with an opaque, waterproof<br />
cover.<br />
3) Machines resting on tires should be<br />
moved once a month. This prevents deflection<br />
strain on only one part of the<br />
tire.<br />
4) Do not use paint to preserve tires. If severe<br />
storage conditions are expected,<br />
consult tire supplier for recommenda -<br />
tions.<br />
Tubes<br />
1) Store in original package until ready for<br />
use. Keep in a cool, dry, draft free area.<br />
2) Used tubes must be removed from the<br />
tire. <strong>The</strong>y must be completely deflated,<br />
cleaned and folded. Store in a cool, dry,<br />
draft free area.
