Objectives (ii)<br />

O8.1 – Keep the project on track: This work-package is the administrative glue of the project, implementing<br />

the terms of the consortium’s contract and the decisions taken by the consortium’s councils, and ensuring<br />

that it runs according to plan. It has six competence areas as outlined below, and which are discussed in<br />

greater detail in section B3.2c “<strong>Project</strong> management”.<br />

Description of work (iii)<br />

T8.1 EU coordination (OEAW)<br />

<strong>The</strong> coordinator communicates to the consortium <strong>part</strong>ners information originating from the EU that<br />

specifically addresses our project or is of general interest regarding the eContentPlus and other scientific<br />

programs and activities, and also reports developments about the activity of the consortium to the EU.<br />

T8.2 Administrative affairs (OEAW)<br />

Maintain the day-to-day administration of the project (requests and replies to and from the <strong>part</strong>ners).<br />

Collects periodic reports from the <strong>part</strong>ners on the progress of the work and generates synthesis reports at<br />

the project level.<br />

T8.3 Financial matters (OEAW)<br />

Receives the EU grant for the project, plans its deployment over time, distributes the funds among <strong>part</strong>ners<br />

and manages budget increases, shifts and cuts. Monitors, by means of periodic reports from the <strong>part</strong>ners,<br />

the state of financial expenditures.<br />

T8.4 Intellectual propriety rights (IPR) (OEAW)<br />

Negotiates IPR with the <strong>part</strong>ners and external entities and ensures the balance between the claims of the<br />

owners and the access needs of the public.<br />

T8.5 Information flow (OEAW)<br />

Keeps the <strong>part</strong>ners updated on the progress of the project and circulates technical and administrative<br />

information among them.<br />

T8.6 Public relations (OEAW)<br />

Acts as the official inquiry and statement point for the consortium, seeking a lively contact with the<br />

specialized-user communities as well as the non-scientific public.<br />
