<strong>Laura</strong> Zent was born on December 26, 1923 on a farm<br />
southeast of Mott, ND, the daughter of Raphael and Mary Anne<br />
(Renner) Zent. She attended rural country school for eight years,<br />
graduating from St. Mary’s High School of Richardton, ND. She<br />
then taught at a rural school near Bentley. On July 23, 1945 she<br />
was united in marriage to Victor <strong>Woeste</strong> at the Sacred Heart Church<br />
in Bentley, ND. Since their marriage, Glen Ullin has been their<br />
home. To this union five sons; David, Victor, Ron, John, Ken,<br />
and four daughters; Mary Ann, Kathy, Gerry, and Joan were born.<br />
<strong>Laura</strong> was a dedicated housewife and a prayerful woman. Her love<br />
for the Lord was first and foremost in her life, followed closely by<br />
her love for her family. <strong>Laura</strong> was always positive, smiling, and<br />
prayed for everyone. “Be thankful for this is the day that the Lord<br />
has made” was a favorite verse of hers. <strong>Laura</strong> and Victor lived a<br />
faith filled life. <strong>Laura</strong> taught 35+ years for Sacred Heart Church’s<br />
religious education program, serving also as a lector, Eucharistic<br />
minister, choir member and she played piano at church and for the<br />
nursing home church services. She was active in the youth ministry<br />
program for many years and active in Victor’s Deaconate ministry.<br />
<strong>Laura</strong> was also a secretary for Glen Ullin High School, a nurse’s<br />
aid at Marian Manor Nursing <strong>Home</strong> and an EMT on the ambulance<br />
squad. She also enjoyed playing cards. <strong>Laura</strong> was a member and<br />
held many offices for the Christian Mothers. She was a member of<br />
the Lioness Club, <strong>Home</strong>maker Club and the Right to Life where she<br />
was the secretary/treasurer of the local chapter, also serving on the<br />
State Right to Life Board of Directors and also as State Secretary.<br />
<strong>Laura</strong> passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Marion Manor<br />
in Glen Ullin, ND. <strong>Laura</strong> is survived by her nine children, David<br />
(Jo-Ann) <strong>Woeste</strong> of River Falls, WI, Mary Ann (Loren) Saville of<br />
Souris, ND, Kathy Zelmer of Apple Valley, MN, Gerry (Rick)<br />
Filibeck of Glen Ullin, ND, Joan (Dennis) Peltz of Hanover, MN,<br />
Victor “Bud” (LuAnn) <strong>Woeste</strong> of Hazen, ND, Ron (Julie) <strong>Woeste</strong><br />
of Elk River, MN, John (Shell) <strong>Woeste</strong> of Salt Lake City, UT, and<br />
Ken (<strong>Laura</strong>) <strong>Woeste</strong> of Longmont, CO; 24 grandchildren, Jessica<br />
(Rocky) Wruck, Peter (Sara) <strong>Woeste</strong>, Dan (Maria) Saville, David<br />
(Michelle) Saville, Sara (Kent) Weishaar, Jodi (Hans) Bjellum, Jeri<br />
(Tom) Quant, Brian (Darcie) Filibeck, Becky (Don) Heley, Chris<br />

and Julia <strong>Woeste</strong>; four brothers, Raymond (Marlene) Zent of Mott,<br />
ND, Werner (Velma) Zent of Clarks Grove, MN, Arnold (Marilyn)<br />
Zent of Stewartville, MN, Curtis (Carol) Zent of Fountain Hills,<br />
AZ; four sisters, Irene Jochim of Cambria, CA, Eleanor (Frank)<br />
Fortuna of Greenwood, IN, Delores (Curt) Chambers of Highlands<br />
Ranch, CO, and Marie Dempsey of Munster, IN; one brother-inlaw<br />
Al Kuhn of Alamagordo, NM. She is preceded in death by<br />
her husband, Rev. Victor P. <strong>Woeste</strong>; one son-in-law, Vern Zelmer<br />
her parents, Raphael and Mary Zent; three brothers, Clarence<br />
(Bernetta), Ira and Gerald (Evie); three sisters, Elsie Kuhn,<br />
Lillian (Del) Knevel and Eunice Zent, and two infant brothers.
This is the day the<br />
Lord has made.<br />
