Enviro Master helping
Cantabrians
Enviro Master has been helping
Cantabrians get the balance right when
it comes to choosing the perfect heat
pump or air conditioning system for
their home or office since 2002.
Their team of expert sales people,
qualified electricians, heating and
refrigeration engineers, help to supply
and install one of Christchurch’s
widest range of heat pumps including
Panasonic, Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin
and Fujitsu. Because they have no
affiliation with any one brand, you can
be assured their advice on the benefits
and differences between each product is
unbiased.
They will recommend the most
energy-efficient and cost-effective system
for your individual situation, and will
have you regulating the heat in your
home or office in no time.
Nowadays, customers are often
wanting whole home solutions to be
able to maintain even temperatures
throughout the home both in Winter
and Summer. This can be achieved by
using ducted systems or multi systems
and Enviro Master are experts in
designing, installing and commissioning
these systems.
Help is currently available with a
government subsidy offering 80 per cent
of the cost of a new heat pump up to
$3000 including GST.
The subsidy is part of the Warmer
Kiwi Homes initiative and is available
to Home owner/occupiers with a
Community Services Card, a SuperGold
combo card or who live in a low-income
area as determined by deciles 8-10 on
the New Zealand Deprivation Index.
The applicant’s home must also have
been built before 2008, have insulation
up to code (insulation subsidies also
available) and have no fixed heating
in any living area, such as an existing
operational heat pump or fireplace.
To ensure you choose the right system
for your home or business, one of Enviro
Master’s experts will visit to assess your
individual situation, offer advice and
answer any questions you may have.
This consultation is at no cost to the
customer and is always provided before a
heat pump is installed.
Anyone wondering about their
eligibility for a subsidised heat pump are
welcome to get in touch for details and
help with the application process.
Playground gets a
$20k funding boost
• From page 1
The strong community response has
seen a partial backdown from the city
council. It is now adding an extra $20,000
out of existing budgets to bolster the
project.
“There’s a significantly larger footprint.
There’s a tunnel, unfortunately there isn’t
that big double slide because once again
that would require additional funding
and we’re really proud to have kept that
within existing budgets to ensure that our
community have a bigger and playground
without breaking the bank,” Hewison said.
He believes the public will be happier
with the new upgrade.
RESPONSE: Alex Hewison is pleased public pressure has resulted in a
‘bigger and better’ playground for Thomson Park. Below – the old fort
playground was removed in May.
“I think anything is better than the
original design.”
Hewison said the new design will allow
more play elements to be added on in
future, subject to funding.
The change in plans will result in a
delay, but he hopes the new expanded
playground will be up and running for the
area’s children by the end of the year.
CHALLENGE: Aquagym swim club members working hard to achieve their
840km goal.
Swimmers clock up
length of South Island
• By Isabella Adams
A SWIM club challenged themselves to
swim the length of the South Island in a
week.
The Aquagym swim club ran their first
ever “aquathon” to fundraise for the club.
The goal was to swim the length of the
South Island, a total of 840km, which they
achieved through weekly training sessions
and a wrap-up event at the end of the last
month.
Club president Mike Walker said the
idea came from one of the parents.
“What we wanted to do was raise money
at the club for supporting our coaches,
getting equipment for the swimmers and
things like that.
“One of our mums said, ‘well, why don’t
we swim the length of the South Island?
And we’ll count it, we’ll do it over a week,
and we’ll count all our trainings together’.”
The Cashel St based club set a goal of
$6000 and fundraised through Givealittle.
They raised $7037.
Walker said they would run a similar
event in the future.
“The people who got behind it that I saw
and swam with seemed to have a good
time and really enjoy it.
“I think we’ll definitely do it again.”
