I felt as if the Holy spirit was stirring in my heart
whispering to me, saying: “I didn’t give him to
you, so that you could tie his laces, I have given
him to you so that you can love him and teach
him my ways”
Well, that revelation bowled me over and
brought me a sense of peace that only Jesus
can give. I began to see things differently and
realized that one of the vital things we can do
as parents is pray for our children.
The Bible is filled with narratives of mothers
praying for their children. Hannah prayed for
Samuel. For this child I have prayed. (1 Sam
1:27-28)
How should we as parents pray for our children?
Consider the acronym PRAY.
Pray for them on purpose, for their redemption
that they may walk in an awareness of the love
and grace of Jesus for them. When we pray, we
must have hearts that are yielding faithfully
to the will of God for their lives through Jesus
Christ.
Pray the Word of God over your children
Speak and pray scripture over the lives of our
children. We have the power to speak life over
our children daily. Pray the will of God over
their lives, that they may be empowered to
dwell in their God-given destiny according
to his glorious purposes.
Pray for the redemption of your children,
SCRIPTURES TO
PRAY FOR OUR
LITTLE ONES:
the day of acceptance of Jesus as their savior,
the day the redemption of Jesus becomes a
reality in their lives.
Pray for our children to experience an
awareness of the presence of the love, grace
and peace of Jesus.
Yield to Jesus as you pray for your children
because our children belong to God and not to
us. Our children, our gift from God, given to us
to raise for his honor and glory in a posture of
surrender to him.
When we are unable to tie their shoelaces,
may we find the strength to give our treasures
to him as we pray…
