REPXPERT Conference panel
available to watch online
Engaging panel sees industry experts discuss key industry topics
including the UK’s ageing car parc, labour rates, recruitment and
electric vehicles.
The Schaeffler REPXPERT panel
discussion, which captivated
REPXPERT Conference attendees, is
now available to watch online.
Held at the Manufacturing Training
Centre (MTC) Coventry on Wednesday
22nd May, the landmark event saw
industry journalist, Mike Ruff lead a
distinguished lineup of industry experts,
each providing valuable insights into the
challenges and opportunities faced by
independent garages in the UK.
“The knowledge exchanged at the
REPXPERT Conference proved to be
incredibly inspiring,” said Matthew Selby,
Sales and Marketing Director at Schaeffler
Automotive Aftermarket (UK) Ltd. “That’s
why we’re delighted to make the panel
discussion available to a wider audience
through the release of this must-watch
video.”
Sitting on the panel was REPXPERT
brand ambassador, Andy Savva, ‘The
Garage Inspector,‘ having clocked-up
decades of experience shaping successful
garage businesses. Also present was
Dean Lomas of DC Lomas Ltd, whose
journey from mobile technician to
workshop owner highlights the true value
of mentorship. Matt Cleevely, founder of
Cleevely Group, offered insight on how
to navigate the fast-growing EV market.
Tim Benson of Oldfields Garage shared
expertise in operational growth, while
Matt Wiseman of Wiseman Motor Services
added his deep industry knowledge to
complete the panel.
Available to watch back, the discussion
starts by exploring the UK’s aging car parc,
noting that while many workshops are
“busier than ever,” garage owners should
take proactive steps to ensure they remain
busy in the coming weeks and months.
Next, the conversation turns to
customer profiling strategies, how to set
the correct labour rate, and advice on
overcoming the recruitment challenge
with a particular emphasis on the
importance of apprenticeships, before
a lively debate on electric vehicles
concludes the session.
The video can be watched on the
REPXPERT app, or visiting the website
at: www.repxpert.co.uk. It can also be
