COURSE<br />

OBJECTIVE<br />

The aim <strong>of</strong> this postgradu<strong>at</strong>e course is to<br />

provide the student with a solid found<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

and understanding for the diagnosis and<br />

tre<strong>at</strong>ment <strong>of</strong> the most common oncological<br />

diseases in the small animal veterinary clinic.<br />

The main objective is for the student to<br />

become confident in the management <strong>of</strong><br />

neoplastic diseases using an up-to-d<strong>at</strong>e and<br />

evidence-based approach.<br />

STRUCTURE<br />

AND BENEFITS<br />

The postgradu<strong>at</strong>e course is structured into<br />

modules with theoretical-practical classes<br />

designed to introduce students to the<br />

basics <strong>of</strong> oncology. Each module will be<br />

taught by one or more qualified or<br />

accredited specialists, including<br />

oncologists, surgeons, p<strong>at</strong>hologists, and<br />

radiologists, who are residency-trained<br />

clinicians in their respective fields. This<br />

ensures students receive the most up-tod<strong>at</strong>e<br />

and highest quality training in the<br />

continually evolving field <strong>of</strong> veterinary<br />

oncology.<br />

The first four modules cover cancer<br />

biology, paraneoplastic syndromes, and<br />

provide an overview <strong>of</strong> available diagnostic<br />

and tre<strong>at</strong>ment options. The remaining eight<br />

modules focus on the types <strong>of</strong> neoplasia<br />

commonly encountered in everyday<br />

practice. Students will study the biology,<br />

differential diagnosis, diagnostic<br />

approaches, and tre<strong>at</strong>ment options for<br />

these diseases.<br />

TARGET AUDIENCE<br />

Aimed <strong>at</strong> veterinary surgeons working in general practice or more experienced<br />

vets in oncology clinics who want to deepen their knowledge in clinical oncology. It<br />

is also intended for veterinary surgeons aiming to pursue a career in veterinary<br />

oncology through an internship or residency in the future.<br />
