Delegates from across the United
Kingdom assembled for the NFSP
Annual Conference and Retail Event
at the University of Warwick in
Coventry on 11-13 May.
The Conference kicked off with the
Retail Event on the Sunday morning
where several new retail categories
were displayed for the first time.
In the afternoon, NFSP Chief
Executive Officer Calum Greenhow
addressed delegates when he spoke
about an Oversight Committee and
the future of the post office network,
the culture within Post Office Ltd
(PO), the vision of the NFSP, and
more, before a Q&A session took
place.
The Timpson Group’s Darren Burns
then spoke about Upside Down
Management and the culture in
Timpson, before a Banquet Dinner in
the evening.
Monday was headlined by Your
Questions, a Q&A panel debate
which featured Postal Affairs
Minister Kevin Hollinrake, PO Chief
Executive Nick Read, Calum and
Darren, with NFSP Chair Tim
Boothman chairing the event.
Minister Hollinrake said: “I really
enjoyed it. Understandably people
gave me a constructive challenge
about where we are and where we
need to go.
“But we heard everything people
said and we’re
very keen to
make sure that
the Post Office
isn’t just seen as
Kevin Hollinrake
an organisation
that has a past.
It’s also got a very bright future.”
The new format received positive
feedback from delegates and
provided the opportunity to ask
important questions.
Breakout sessions in the afternoon
gave members the chance to talk
about how they see the future of the
network plus the opportunity to
share best practice and brainstorm
ideas.
