Methodologies: RecyclingAnother important method in my artistic toolkit isrecycling and reusing items that are no longer consideredvaluable. Dutch People Invented The GreatestTechnology EverWhile visiting my girlfriend in Berlin over NewYear's, I had the opportunity to meet many newpeople. During these encounters, I frequentlyfound myself explaining the nature of my studiesand the details of my current project. I alwaystook the opportunity to ask people whattechnology meant to them and whether they feltthey still had control over it.One late evening at the KitKat Club, I met a guywearing a fox tail who, though quite drunk, madea memorable remark: "Dutch people have inventedthe greatest technology ever. Late at nightafter going out, you can visit this magic wallthat will trade your coins for food."This statement struck me as profound. Indeed,the FEBO machine might be one of the greatestDutch inventions. However, aside from theaddition of wireless payments, the concept ofthis particular vending machine has seen littleinnovation.This encounter sparked an idea: what if thistechnology became sentient and developed ahunger not just for coins, but for data? Inother words; what if the Enshitification processcame to take over this machine? Intrigued bythis speculative scenario, I began searchingsecond-hand marketplace websites and I found aFEBO machine from a business that had closeddown. I reached out and successfully negotiateda deal to acquire the vending machine.7
