› BACKGROUND<br />
This <strong>Action</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> has been created by<br />
<strong>Pen</strong> <strong>Llŷn</strong> residents who came together<br />
in a <strong>Community</strong> Assembly on the <strong>Climate</strong><br />
between July 2022 and April 2023.<br />

In responding locally to the climate and ecological emergency,<br />
all the <strong>Climate</strong> Assembly’s actions will be:<br />

and facilitated by climate action<br />
movement GwyrddNi, in partnership<br />
with Ynni <strong>Llŷn</strong>, our local partner in<br />
<strong>Pen</strong> <strong>Llŷn</strong>. The work was funded by the<br />
National Lottery’s <strong>Community</strong> Fund.<br />

An education programme was held in local<br />
schools and four assembly sessions were<br />
held with members in the community to<br />
learn, share and discuss together before<br />
answering the question: How can we in <strong>Pen</strong><br />
<strong>Llŷn</strong> respond locally to <strong>Climate</strong> Change?<br />
The answers can be read in this <strong>Action</strong><br />
<strong>Plan</strong>. There is now an open invitation for<br />
anyone in the area who’s interested to join<br />
us on the journey to realise these ideas.<br />

› Principles<br />
At the beginning of the process, members presented the following principles and guidelines to the Assembly.<br />
Following this, thematic groups were set up to develop the visions and actions contained in this document:<br />
› Any plan to concentrate on the unique<br />
language and culture of the area<br />
› Invest locally in projects (e.g. jobs, housing etc.)<br />
› Develop plans that concentrate on natural resources<br />
› Encourage green and heritage tourism<br />
› Develop projects on a local and micro-local level<br />
(e.g. Project that would be suitable for Aberdaron<br />
not necessarily suitable for Pwllheli)<br />
› Inclusivity - voice for all, find common ground and positivity<br />
› Clarity - ensure that everybody understands,<br />
explain purpose, honesty, and present correct<br />
information and evidence in its context<br />
› Work towards priority actions<br />
› Consider how different themes affect each<br />
other and develop crosscutting themes<br />
› The local and global are inter-connected<br />
